Using poetry to reclaim our humanity by Nina Kisch

Using poetry to reclaim our humanity by Nina Kisch.

Social media "influencers" often tell us to "be yourself," but what does that mean? In previous sessions, we’ve looked at the idea of the self through psychology, history, and philosophy. This time, we’ll use poetry as our guide.

Audre Lorde said, “Poetry is the way we help give name to the nameless so it can be thought. The farthest external horizons of our hopes and fears are cobbled by our poems, carved from the rock experiences of our daily lives.”

Join us in exploring poetry and discussing with the community to understand why Ada Limón believes “Poetry can really help us reclaim our humanity.”
