"How does AI make us feel" by Andreas Wandelt

The "Communicative Action" of Social Media Platforms by Gabe Elias.

For part 2 of this series on “Communication Action”, we will extend the discussion by applying the theory to the context of social media platforms.

While Habermas views communicative action as a consensual form of social coordination in which actors seek common understanding rather than strategic action in pursuit of their own goals, his critics argue such a view privileges an “ideal speech act” that doesn’t really speak to how human beings communicate in the real world.

To thus add some nuance to the notion of communicative action, this Drinking Dialogue will explore the concept as it plays out in the public/private spheres of human interaction enabled by social media.
