'Status Negotiations' with Alexis Niki

We are complex creatures, yearning for belonging while also wanting to stand out. In ways big and small, every moment of every day we jockey for position. Are we noticed, accepted, and loved? Do we hold power, do we command respect?

Do we have status?

This is the stuff of human drama.

In this session, we’ll use stories and situations to trigger a deeper awareness of the myriad ways we negotiate status.

In the words of improv master Keith Johnstone, “acquaintances become friends when they agree to play status games together.” I invite you to agree to play. Come prepared to laugh, to cringe, to learn, and to make a fool of yourself . . . which is a time-tested way to improve your status in the community!
