Chinese medicine: Making sense of the invisible whole by Dr Gemma Jiang

Chinese medicine: Making sense of the invisible whole by Dr Gemma Jiang

Chinese medicine is rooted in ancient ways of observing, sensing and perceiving, long before the medical revolution of the industrial age. It places a special focus on the invisible aspects of human health, taking the whole human body and its environments into consideration. What might we learn from this traditional yet ever advancing system of medical practice?

In this DD session, we will explore:

  • Foundational concepts of Chinese medicine: harmony between human and their environment; the trinity of physical, energetic and spiritual health;
  • Sensing the whole: the importance of inner discipline to feel into the whole;
  • Dancing with the whole: some helpful explorations in human health guided by thought provoking questions.

This session is a powerful integration of two streams of influence in Gemma's upbringing: her Grandfather's Chinese medicine practice and her Aunt's influence in classical Chinese culture. Please join us to find out how the wisdom and practices of Chinese medicine are ever so relevant to this modern life, both for individuals and for organizations.
